What mentorship means at RGC:

At RGC, mentorship is for youth and adults alike. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, our goal is to provide opportunities for growth in the trades through exposure, guidance, and hands-on experience.

Areas of focus may include:

  • Flooring – installation, repair, and finishing

  • Drywall – hanging, taping, and finishing

  • Carpentry – framing, trim, and custom builds

  • Plumbing – basics of fixtures, repairs, and maintenance

  • HVAC – system care, tune-ups, and installs

  • Electrical – outlets, lighting, and troubleshooting

  • Landscaping – lawn care, planting, and small hardscaping projects

  • General Contracting Skills – project flow, teamwork, and jobsite safety

Through partnerships with community organizations and the evolving vision of Rockstone University, mentees gain the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals while building confidence and skill.

While the program is evolving, our focus is clear:

  • Exposure to the Trades through real projects and job shadowing and classes

  • Guidance & Mentorship from experienced professionals

  • Opportunities for Growth in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and general contracting
